2026 Poster/Paper Session & Poster/Paper Award Competition

Deadline: October 4, 2026 for Posters; September 6, 2026 for Papers

Participants interested in sharing their work at the 9th Annual New England Rare Disease Statistics (NERDS) Workshop 2026 are warmly encouraged to submit to the poster and paper session.

Three poster and paper award competitions will be held:

  • Student Poster Award Competition
  • General Poster Award Competition
  • Paper Award Competition

Posters and papers may cover any topic related to biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Adaptive and Bayesian designs
  • Platform, basket, umbrella, and master protocol trials
  • AI and machine learning in rare disease clinical trials
  • Real-world data and real-world evidence (RWD/RWE)
  • Dose optimization and quantitative decision-making
  • Wearable devices and digital health technologies
  • Decentralized and digital clinical trials
  • Genomics and precision medicine
  • Pediatric and ultra-rare disease research

All posters and papers will be reviewed and judged, and monetary prizes will be awarded to the top-scoring posters and papers in all categories, which will be communicated before the workshop. Selected paper award finalist(s) will also be invited to present during the workshop.

Submitted papers should be unpublished; however, manuscripts currently under review are acceptable. Each topic can only be submitted in one category.

Please note that you will be asked to submit both your abstract and poster or paper, along with some additional information as detailed in the submission form below. Poster size should not exceed 40"x60". A draft paper should be no longer than 25 pages, inclusive of all figures, tables, and bibliography, entirely double-spaced including abstract, main body, references, footnotes, and appendices, and using at least 12-point type throughout with at least 1-inch margins on all sides.

All poster presenters are expected to register for the workshop and are responsible for printing and transporting their posters. All paper submitters are expected to register for the workshop.
